The Willow Festival announces A.R.U. Peterborough as new sponsor

Organisers of The Willow Festival are delighted to confirm that A.R.U. Peterborough will be sponsoring The Crown Live Music Venue Stage at the 2023 festival. A.R.U. Peterborough and The Willow Festival have similar ambitions to support the community of Peterborough and the wider region, coupled with a desire to develop the cultural offer for the new influx of students to Peterborough. It is anticipated that this will be the start of a partnership that will grow over the coming years.

The new partnership will begin at the Family music festival which will take place on Friday 21, Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 July on Peterborough Embankment. The weekend will see 7 stages and 176 musicians acts deliver a wide range of musical performances, and festival goers can enjoy refreshments and family-themed activities from the numerous exhibitors attending the event. Advanced tickets are just £10 for the full 3-days and can be purchased from www.thewillowfestival.co.uk

Event Manager, John Scriven said, “Having the support of our local university is very exciting for The Willow Festival as we return following a 9-year hiatus.

We are keen to come back bigger and better than ever and with the backing of one of the city’s largest new developments we are confident we will do so. We are looking forward to working with A.R.U. Peterborough for years to come.”

A.R.U. Peterborough opened its doors to its first students in September 2022. Purpose-built from the ground up for Peterborough and the wider region, the city’s new university boasts cutting-edge facilities to support higher education studies and employability. This year, the university is entering its third phase of development which includes a new teaching building and the Living Lab, an interactive science facility and education space which will be open to the public.

Professor Ross Renton, Principal of A.R.U. Peterborough, said: “I know there’s a lot of excitement about the return of the much-loved Willow Festival, and we’re delighted to be able to support this family-focused event. We have a key role to promote a vibrant and accessible cultural environment in Peterborough. With its superb city centre location, close to ARU Peterborough, it promises to be a music event the whole community can enjoy.”
